The Philadelphia Eagles, victors of Super Bowl LIX, have accepted an invitation from the 47th President Donald Trump to visit the White House, celebrating their impressive victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last February.

“We sent out the invite and they responded with enthusiasm. We are currently coordinating a date and logistics,” a White House representative shared with Fox News Digital.
Fox News confirmed that “the Philadelphia Eagles organization has accepted the invitation to visit the White House and is in the process of arranging a date and logistics.”
The team’s spokesperson has verified this announcement.
During their first Super Bowl win in 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles declined a White House invitation from Trump. This broke the tradition of championship-winning teams visiting the White House.
A number of players voiced their decision not to attend in 2018, leading to a smaller contingent being present, which prompted Trump and his staff to withdraw the invitation.
The White House labeled the team’s choice as a “political stunt” before retracting the invite.
This year, there were fears of a repeat situation as reports suggested that the Eagles may not visit again, but Trump assured The Spectator last month that the team would indeed visit this time.
“They’re coming here. Philadelphia is coming here,” Trump remarked to the outlet.
“They will be [invited]. We haven’t yet, but we will be,” he added, after watching the Eagles triumph over the Chiefs, 40-22, at the Caesars Superdome. “I thought their performance was outstanding. Absolutely, they will receive an invitation. We will extend it promptly today. They deserve to be here, and we look forward to seeing them.”
The narrative has since shifted, indicating that the players have taken a new stance regarding the president.
The Eagles will become the second team to visit the president during his second term, following the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers, who visited last month.
Trump praised Philadelphia for their remarkable 40-22 victory over the Chiefs.
“The Eagles played exceptional football, it was like perfect,” Trump expressed in a radio interview with Mark Levin. “Their first play, which was called back, was either a touchdown or would have been. They recalibrated, executed a long pass, and proceeded to score touchdown after touchdown. They truly played excellently.”
