Eastman responds to disbarment case and lawsuit over riot involvement
John Eastman, the high-profile lawyer and academic for former President Donald Trump, remains confident in his ability to overcome a California judge’s call for his disbarment and his involvement in a lawsuit related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
During an interview on The Absolute Truth with Emerald Robinson, Eastman expressed his belief that the issue of disbarment is not yet resolved.
The California State Bar Court Judge Yvette Roland recommended disbarment for Eastman, citing his alleged false statements about election fraud and his role in inciting the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.
However, Eastman argued that any disbarment decision would need to be approved by the California Supreme Court and that there are still legal steps to be taken before reaching that point.
Eastman believes that the case against him is politically motivated and an attempt to undermine the justice system.
While his case is under appeal, Eastman is not allowed to practice law in California.
Eastman also disclosed that he has been served a subpoena in a civil suit brought by Capitol Police officers against Trump, in which they hold him responsible for the riot and seek financial reparations for the harm they suffered.
He criticized the special counsel’s investigation, calling it politically driven and lacking a genuine pursuit of truth.
Despite the legal challenges he faces, Eastman remains committed to upholding his beliefs and fighting against what he perceives as unjust attacks on him.
