Elder Expresses Disgust to Newsmax: Two-Tiered Justice System Is “Sickening”
Republican 2024 presidential candidate and radio host Larry Elder told Newsmax on Wednesday that the apparent “two-tiered justice system is just sickening.”
“[The] two tiers system of justice is sickening,” Elder said during “Carl Higbie Frontline” on Wednesday. “The thing that bothered me the most is that one of them referred to [former President] Donald Trump as an insurrectionist. All Trump did on Jan. 6 was to make the same argument that Democrats made after the 2000 election when they tried to challenge Florida.”
Elder said it is the same argument Democrats tried in 2004 and again in 2016 when Hillary Clinton lost to Trump in 2016.
“[It is the] same argument they made after 2004 when they tried to challenge Ohio,” he said. “Thirty House Democrats, including Bennie Thompson, the chair of the Jan. 6 insurrection committee, joined with [former California Democrat Sen.] Barbara Boxer to overturn the results in Ohio, claiming the Debo voting machines had been tampered with. Where [have] we heard that before?
“[Democrats] challenged more states following the 2016 election than Donald Trump did after the 2020 election, but nobody called them ‘election deniers.’ Nobody prosecuted them, and their lawyers were not facing disbarment. It is sickening what is going on right now.”
Elder said that a letter sent by the White House to the nation’s major news organizations telling them to attack Republicans for efforts to begin an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden amounts to censorship.
“[George] Orwell could not have predicted this,” Elder said. “[Democrats] shut down any kind of discussion over whether or not there should be lockdowns, and mask and vaccine mandates [during the COVID-19 pandemic].
“The damage done to people has been incalculable. And the idea that the government is colluding with the FBI and Big Tech to suppress — thought suppress — content again is outrageous.”
In a letter Wednesday, the White House urged media outlets to “ramp up scrutiny” on Republicans for pursuing “lies” regarding the investigation into the president and his son, Hunter Biden.
“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies,” Ian Sams, a spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s Office, wrote in the letter, CNN reported Wednesday. “Covering impeachment as a process story — Republicans say X, but the White House says Y — is a disservice to the American public, who relies on the independent press to hold those in power accountable.”
