Ex-Watergate Prosecutor Urges Televising of Trump Federal Case

Former Watergate prosecutor Jon Sale believes that the case against former President Donald Trump, being tried by special counsel Jack Smith, should be televised to prevent people from becoming desensitized to the events. Sale emphasizes the importance of the American people witnessing the case to understand its significance. Trump is facing 91 felony counts across four indictments, including charges related to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election and the Capitol riot. Over 40 Democrat lawmakers have also supported televising the hearings, citing the historic nature of the charges. However, another former Watergate prosecutor, Nick Akerman, argues against cameras in the courtroom, stating that it could turn the trial into entertainment and potentially influence the proceedings.
