Fareed Zakaria Claims New York Indictment Against Trump is Politically Motivated

According to Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, President Joe Biden and Democrat prosecutors are attempting to “indict him into the White House,” a viewpoint shared by CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria: GPS” monologue.

Fareed Zakaria expressed in his opening monologue that the prosecution of Trump is politically motivated and solely targeting him due to his name.

Zakaria stated, “The trials against him keep him in the spotlight, infuriate his base, make him a martyr, and even result in some sympathy among the public who believe his prosecutors have political motives. This is true in my opinion. The New York indictment would likely not have been brought against a defendant who isn’t Donald Trump.”

Despite being known for his anti-Trump stance, Zakaria acknowledged the reality of Trump’s support and unifying effect on the GOP.

Zakaria also noted the increasing division within the Democratic Party, particularly concerning the war in Gaza, highlighting that Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict has led to polarizing opinions among Americans.

Furthermore, Zakaria recognized the trend of Republicans uniting behind Trump, with any previous opposition fading away.
