FBI Shuts Down DEI Office in December, Just Before Trump’s Inauguration – One America News Network

In December, the FBI officially disbanded its DEI office, in anticipation of President-elect Donald Trump’s reinstatement in the Oval Office.

Reports indicate that the agency “initiated the closure of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), effective by December 2024,” as stated in a Thursday announcement.
This decision follows extensive criticism of DEI initiatives, especially after the recent New Orleans terror attack on New Year’s Day, which resulted in at least 14 fatalities and instilled fear among local residents.
House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan had previously addressed Christopher Wray, the outgoing FBI director, via a letter, condemning the agency for prioritizing DEI initiatives over the protection of U.S. citizens.
“The FBI’s law enforcement and intelligence capabilities are diminishing as it now hires ‘the best and brightest’ candidates to serve as Special Agents,” stated Jordan in his correspondence.
“An increasing number of lower-caliber candidates—referred to by one insider as ‘bread crumbs’ because they were rejected by other federal law enforcement bodies—are seeking positions as FBI Special Agents, and the bureau is choosing these candidates to fulfill DEI quotas,” the letter elaborated.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) also reached out to Wray after the New Year’s Day assault, challenging his leadership.
“I am profoundly concerned that–under your leadership–the Bureau has emphasized Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives beyond its essential mission of safeguarding the American populace,” Blackburn expressed after the incident.
“Due to events like the January 1 terror incident, Americans now feel increasingly threatened, and the FBI’s focus on diversity over competency reinforces these concerns,” she added. “Fortunately, the American people have voiced their opinion, and President Trump will soon restore law and order in our nation.”
Moreover, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) criticized the FBI for its adherence to DEI quotas instead of hiring top talent.
“A number of these agencies have become so entangled in the DEI movement. Whether you label it wokeness or something else entirely,” Scalise remarked earlier this month.
“However, their primary concern has shifted towards diversity and inclusion as opposed to security. These are fundamentally different priorities, and we must return to our core mission,” he concluded.
In addition, Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, Kash Patel, has advocated for reforming the FBI in his book “Government Gangsters,” which “unveils the Inside of the Deep State, highlighting key players and strategies within the entrenched government bureaucracy, which has spent decades diminishing the power of the American populace and their elected representatives,” as described in the book’s synopsis.
Patel, a former DOJ prosecutor, has yet to participate in his confirmation hearing, where senators plan to inquire about his so-called “enemies list,” which he compiled in his work “Government Gangsters.” This list allegedly identifies “members of the unaccountable bureaucracy,” often referred to as “deep state” operatives.
Patel has dedicated his career to federal law and has held intelligence positions during Trump’s first term. He played a significant role in debunking the Democrats’ alleged “Russian collusion” narrative in the 2016 election cycle.
“[Lawyer] Marc Elias fabricated the myth that President Trump colluded with Russia. Serving as counsel for the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016, Elias commissioned Fusion GPS to gather the spurious opposition research on Trump that became known as the Russia dossier, which was subsequently discredited by the Mueller [DOJ] investigation,” states the Ohio Senate’s official website.
