Federal Investigation Launched Into NYC Mayor Eric Adams Following Subpoenas Linked To Campaign Donations – One America News Network

New York City Mayor Eric Adams received another round of grand jury subpoenas, which is the latest development of the federal inquiry into Adams’ campaign since 2021, according to The New York Times.

The subpoenas follow a long trail of investigations and indictments perpetrated by members of Mayor Adams’ staff, dating back to his Brooklyn Borough presidential campaign back in 2017.
Although subpoenas prohibit prosecutors and jury members from discussing the details of the probe, the New York Times (NYT) reported that the investigation is questioning whether Adams and his campaign “conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations and pressured the Fire Department to sign off on Turkey’s new hi…
“To be clear, we have not identified any evidence of illegal conduct by the mayor,” stated Brendan McGuire, a lawyer involved in the case. “To the contrary, we have identified extensive evidence undermining the reported theories of federal prosecution as to the Mayor, which we have voluntarily shared with the US Attorney.”
Following the NYT piece, the mayor’s spokesperson responded on the ongoing investigation, stating that Mayor Adams: “has been clear over the last nine months that he will cooperate with any investigation underway.”
The recent round of subpoenas follow previous search warrants on other employees working under Adams that were executed last November. One previous warrant had requested to search the residence of Brianna Suggs, who had served as the mayor’s chief fundraiser, among other aids associated with the mayor.
Federal agents were seen leaving Suggs’ home with two laptops, three phones, and a folder that was labeled with the mayor’s name.
A July draft audit of the mayor’s 2021 campaign has also raised further questions into the integrity of Adams’ election campaign.
“The campaign failed to disclose who paid for 158 fund-raisers, reported expenditures which – based on the documentation provided so far – were not campaign-related, accepted anonymous contributions and exceeded spending limits,” The New York Times reported.
Multiple senior advisors to Adams are also facing charges by the city’s anti-corruption agency.
Eric Ulrich, one of Adams’ former senior advisors, has been indicted on bribery accusations, which remains an ongoing case. Another one of Adams’ senior advisers, Timothy Pearson, is facing two investigations from the same anti-corruption agency as well as four sexual harassment lawsuits.
“Nothing has changed. He expects everyone to cooperate to swiftly bring this investigation to a close,” Levy stated.
The FBI has declined to comment on the unfolding events shrouding the mayor.
