Former Lawyer James Biden Repays $400K of $800K Loan

A disbarred Mississippi lawyer who hosted fundraisers for Joe Biden and asked for legislative assistance informed House Republican investigators that he lent Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden, $800,000 but only received $400,000 in repayment.

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability recently published a transcript of Joey Langston’s interview conducted on February 1 in Booneville, Mississippi, as part of the impeachment inquiry into alleged influence peddling and other illegal activities committed by the president and his family members.

Langston, who served a three-year prison sentence after being found guilty in 2007 of conspiring to improperly influence a state court judge, stated that he provided four loans to James Biden in 2016 and one in 2017, but did not have any documentation or records of these transactions.

The committee, as reported by Newsmax, highlighted a recurring pattern where money is loaned to the Bidens without proper documentation, or documentation is produced years later.

Despite claims that Joe Biden lent his brother $240,000, the committee lacks records of the loan, and the White House has been uncooperative in providing any loan-related documents to Republicans.

More details emerged when it was revealed that James Biden issued a $200,000 personal check to his brother, marked as a “loan repayment,” on the same day he received a wire transfer of the same amount from Americore Health, a struggling hospital operator seeking assistance. Politico reported in February that James Biden utilized his brother’s name and influence while working with Americore, which eventually filed for bankruptcy.

Furthermore, James Biden’s wife, Sara Biden, wrote a $40,000 check from her husband’s account to her brother-in-law, also marked as a repayment of a loan, in September 2017. During his testimony to the Oversight Committee last month, James Biden stated that the $40,000 came from CEFC Energy, a now-defunct company with connections to the Chinese Communist Party.

Eric Schwerin, a business associate of Hunter Biden (Joe Biden’s son), had access to Joe Biden’s checking account until the end of 2017. Schwerin testified that he did not recall any loans to James Biden or Sara Biden.
