Former USSS Agent Dan Bongino Appointed as FBI Deputy Director – One America News Network

The new FBI Director, Kash Patel, has announced that former U.S. Secret Service agent Dan Bongino will take on the role of deputy director for the bureau.

Bongino, who has a background as a Secret Service agent and as an officer in the New York City Police Department, also hosts “The Dan Bongino Show” podcast.
“This is tremendous news for law enforcement and the future of American justice! I am proud to welcome Dan Bongino as the next Deputy Director of the FBI—a warrior and lifelong public servant,” Patel shared in a post on X.
“Dan has devoted his career to protecting our country, starting with his tenure at the NYPD’s 75th precinct, one of the toughest areas, and then spending over a decade as a Special Agent in the Secret Service. His integrity, leadership, and strong commitment to justice make him the ideal candidate to help guide the FBI during this critical period. He’s truly a cop’s cop,” Patel elaborated.
“With Pam Bondi taking up the role of our new Attorney General, we are gathering a team with the intent on restoring public trust, enforcing the rule of law, and ensuring that justice prevails. Dan’s willingness to step away from a highly successful career is a testament to his belief in this mission—together, we’re ready to prioritize the mission,” he added. “Welcome aboard, Dan. Our nation requires strong leadership, and I trust you will serve with honor and dedication.”
President Donald Trump quickly extended a warm welcome to Bongino, stating he is a “man of incredible love and passion for our Country.”
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump also noted that Bongino is “one of the most successful podcasters in the Country, something he is prepared to give up to serve.”
“It’s worth noting another important aspect of Dan Bongino’s life. He has a great wife, Paula, and two wonderful daughters who love their dad immensely. Dan will do an incredible job!!!”
As the deputy director of the FBI, Bongino will work closely with Patel, overseeing the daily operations of all 55 field offices.
Before the appointment was made public, Bongino celebrated Patel’s confirmation during a recent episode of his show, expressing: “We got Kash through, so now you will witness true change.”
Bongino also took to X after the announcement to express his gratitude.
“Thank you, Mr. President, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Patel.”
“I’ve dedicated my life to public service, starting with the NYPD and continuing through my role as a Secret Service agent, serving under both Republican and Democrat administrations. I’ve seen firsthand the dedication and sacrifice of the men and women in these agencies who serve with honor,” Bongino stated.
“There are committed individuals within the FBI who take their oath to the Constitution seriously. They deserve leadership that will support them, safeguard their mission, and ensure they can perform their duties effectively,” he added.
Patel and Bongino aim to implement significant reforms within the bureau, with Patel expressing his intent to reassign up to 1,000 agents from Washington, D.C., to various field offices across the nation.
Additionally, Patel has previously suggested the possibility of shutting down the FBI’s headquarters in D.C. and transforming it into a “museum of the deep state.”
