Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, a Texas Democrat, stated that “mediocre White boys” who are upset about DEI initiatives should not be worried, explaining, “if you are competent, you are not concerned,” in her own words.

Crockett made her comments during an appearance on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live” program.
Following through on his campaign promise, President Donald Trump enacted an executive order on his first day in office titled “Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing.”
The following day, heads of departments within the DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) offices received communication from the administration indicating that staff would be placed on paid leave — as the office was set to shut down.
Since that time, the conversation around DEI has intensified, with Crockett, a long-time advocate for these initiatives, sharing her thoughts during the recent CNN segment hosted by Coates.
During the show, Crockett also pointed to the appointment of Darren Beattie, a Jewish speechwriter who had previously been dismissed by Trump in 2018 after it was disclosed that he attended a conference associated with alleged White nationalists, to a significant State Department role.
Beattie had previously made headlines on X when he remarked, “Competent White men must be in charge if you want things to work. Unfortunately, our entire national ideology is predicated on coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent White men.”
Despite this, Beattie has acknowledged his past dismissal and understands why the initial Trump administration sought to avoid any association with perceived racism or sexism, expressing no animosity towards the 47th president.
“Assisting Secretary Rubio and my respected colleagues at the State Department in executing President Trump’s agenda will require my full commitment and effort, and thus, I will temporarily pause my direct editorial involvement in Revolver News,” Beattie stated.
During a particularly intense moment on the CNN segment, Crockett declared: “Coddling for the White boys is what’s happening right now,” further noting: “I am exhausted by the White tears. Listen, if you are competent, you are not concerned.”
In response, one user on X said: “Uhm, then why oppose merit-based employment???? Nobody, literally nobody, even the guys you called ‘White boy’ have a problem with merit decisions. That’s what we want to promote in hiring practices. I agree, if you’re the best, please come and join the team to facilitate progress. Everyone supports that idea, except those who advocate for DEI as the standard.”
Representative Crockett continued to voice her views on the subject.
“When I walk into Congress every single day, I know that I had to work ten times harder than others just to earn my seat. When you compare me to Marjorie Taylor Greene or Lauren Boebert, there is simply no comparison. That is the reality we have always faced,” Crockett remarked.
“Consequently, the only people who are upset are the mediocre White boys who have been outperformed by individuals who have historically had to exert significantly more effort,” she added.
“The only ones who colonized this land are your ancestors, Trump,” she pointed out later in the discussion.
