Funding Secured by RFK Jr. for Ballot Access

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign has successfully secured funding for ballot access in all 50 U.S. states thanks to an $8 million donation from Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan.

Shanahan has contributed nearly $15 million to the campaign in an effort to elect Kennedy Jr. as president.

“This isn’t just about financing our own campaign,” Shanahan stated in a press release. “We aim to break free from the current two-party system and breathe new life into American democracy.

“Most people agree that the Democrat-Republican dominance in our political system is problematic,” she continued. “With their candidates facing widespread disapproval, now is the ideal time to challenge this status quo.”

To get on the ballot in most states, Kennedy Jr. must gather thousands of signatures, a process that has cost his campaign hundreds of thousands of dollars, with a supporting super PAC spending an additional $2.4 million, according to the New York Times.

“The cost of securing ballot access – in terms of time and money – is a key obstacle to independent political voices,” said Kennedy’s campaign manager Amaryllis Fox Kennedy in a statement.

“The American people are demanding and deserve an alternative to the current broken system. We are excited to utilize these funds to reach the final goal of being on the ballot in all 50 states plus DC.”
