Gallup Poll Shows Republicans are More Enthusiastic than Democrats
In the results of a Gallup survey, it was found that Republicans are more enthusiastic about the upcoming general election in November compared to Democrats.
According to the survey, 59% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents expressed more enthusiasm about voting in 2024 compared to four years ago, as reported by Gallup.
On the other hand, only 35% of GOP voters stated that they are less enthusiastic this year.
Among Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents, 55% said that they are more enthusiastic to vote in 2024 than in 2020, with 42% expressing less enthusiasm.
With Republicans leading by 11 points over Democrats in net enthusiasm trails (plus-24 to plus-13), this could be seen as an encouraging sign for the GOP as former President Donald Trump is expected to run against President Joe Biden in the upcoming election.
Gallup noted that the party with higher net-enthusiasm often sees their candidate win, as partisan enthusiasm correlates closely with the candidate’s position in pre-election polls.
Overall, 54% of Americans are more enthusiastic about voting this year compared to previous elections, while 41% are less enthusiastic, according to Gallup’s survey conducted from March 1-20.
