Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a warning to Hamas, stating that if all of the remaining hostages are not returned by Saturday, the ceasefire will be terminated, and Israel will resume its military operations in Gaza.

Netanyahu made these remarks following Hamas’s announcement on Monday that they would cease further hostage releases, arguing that Israel had violated the ceasefire agreement.

“If Hamas does not return our hostages by Saturday noon – the ceasefire will end, and the IDF will resume intense fighting until Hamas is completely defeated,” Netanyahu stated.

Netanyahu’s remarks come after President Donald Trump cautioned on Monday that “all hell is going to break out” if Hamas fails to release “all” of the remaining hostages by Saturday.

“If they’re not returned, all of them – not in drips and drabs, not two and one and three and four and two. Saturday at 12 o’clock. After that, I would say all hell is going to break out,” Trump warned, adding that “Hamas will find out what I mean.”

Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri responded on Tuesday, stating: “Trump must remember there is an agreement that must be respected by both parties, and this is the only means to bring back the (Israeli) prisoners. The language of threats has no value and only complicates matters.”

Hamas representatives have alleged, supported only by claims from the Palestinian Ministry of Health—which is controlled by the militant group and has previously been criticized for misrepresenting casualty figures—that Israel has been violating the ceasefire by “continuing attacks” and obstructing certain aid deliveries into Gaza.

Nonetheless, President Trump has reiterated his commitment to take control of Gaza to rebuild from its devastation, declaring: “We’ll construct beautiful communities for the 1.9 million residents” of Gaza.

Trump has also urged Egypt and Jordan to accept Palestinians as soon as Gaza becomes a “demolition site.”

However, the surrounding Arab nations initially rejected Trump’s proposal, expressing their reluctance to accept any refugees, particularly Palestinians. According to former U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker, Palestinians have historically been viewed with “fear and loathing” by nearly all Arab states due to their unfavorable reputation.

Despite the initial resistance to Trump’s suggestion, Jordanian King Abdullah II met with Trump on Tuesday, offering his willingness to accept “2,000 sick children from Gaza” at the minimum.

“One of the immediate actions we can take is to bring 2,000 children suffering from illnesses such as cancer to Jordan as quickly as possible,” the king announced during his meeting with President Trump.

Trump continued, expressing his vision for U.S. control over Gaza: “We’re not going to buy anything. We’re going to have it. We’re going to keep it.”

“And we’ll ensure that there will be peace, no problems, and that nobody will question it.”

“Palestinians will ultimately be placed where we decide as a group. I believe we’ll find a parcel of land in Jordan, another in Egypt. We may explore other options, but I am confident that once our discussions conclude, we’ll establish a location where they can live comfortably and safely,” the president concluded.
