Gaza Protests Disrupt Biden’s Abortion Criticism of Trump
Joe Biden criticized Donald Trump for his stance on abortion rights during his first campaign event of 2024 in Manassas, Virginia. However, pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted the rally multiple times with chants and banners.
Biden struggled to start his speech as the hecklers shouted “Genocide Joe has got to go” and raised a Palestinian flag. The interruption highlighted the ongoing tension among some Democrat voters.
Despite the protests, Biden launched a strong attack on Trump’s position on abortion, accusing him of being determined to further restrict it. He also criticized the Republican’s Supreme Court picks for contributing to overturning the federal right to abortion in 2022.
On the 51st anniversary of Roe v Wade, Biden and Harris emphasized the importance of abortion rights and the impact of the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the landmark judgment in 2022. They also highlighted the increasing support for continued access to safe abortion among Americans.
