Georgia Case: Trump’s Co-defendant Remains to Surrender
Six more co-defendants in the Georgia 2020 election case involving Donald Trump surrendered on Friday, leaving only one defendant remaining. The co-defendant who had not surrendered is accused of influencing an election worker and had already negotiated his bond package. Trump himself surrendered on Thursday on charges of illegally scheming to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. The six co-defendants who surrendered had previously negotiated their bail and were released after being booked. Charges against the defendants vary, including violating anti-racketeering laws, influencing witnesses, conspiring to solicit false statements, and facing multiple counts in the indictment. Some defendants, including former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and former Georgia Republican Party Chair David Shafer, are trying to move their charges to federal court.
