Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to Attend Republican National Convention
According to Politico, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp will be present at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July as part of his Fall fundraising tour to support down-ballot Republicans.
Kemp will not be speaking at the convention but is increasing his visibility as he considers running for the Senate in 2026 or the White House in 2028. He has recently hired the former deputy campaign manager to former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and is organizing a tour across multiple states to raise funds for his super PAC and various GOP candidates.
Renowned Republican strategist Whit Ayres commented to Politico, stating, “Kemp is obviously a very savvy and adept politician. He’s one of the very few Republican elected officials who went up against a Trump-endorsed primary challenger and came out smelling like a rose.”
Ayres further mentioned that Kemp’s performance as governor has been “effective and popular,” indicating that excelling in his current position is a strong foundation for a future role.
Kevin McLaughlin, a GOP strategist and adviser to Kemp’s super PAC, highlighted Kemp’s successful navigation of challenging situations in recent years. He pointed to Kemp’s favorable polling, notably an internal survey by Signal showing a 58% favorability rating in Georgia, positioning the governor favorably among Republicans.
