Governor Burgum Criticizes Biden’s Energy Policies for Aiding Enemies and Jeopardizing American and Allied Interests
North Dakota GOP Gov. Doug Burgum is offering his support to the Trump campaign. As the governor of a state rich in energy resources, he has valuable insights to contribute to energy policy discussions, even though he is not formally involved in crafting policy for the campaign.
“I’ve had the privilege of serving as governor under both President [Donald] Trump and President [Joe] Biden. I have firsthand experience of the differences between the two administrations,” Burgum shared on “Face the Nation.” “I can see that the Biden energy policies are challenging for American consumers, beneficial to foreign adversaries, and difficult for our allies.”
Burgum pointed out that under the Biden administration, “North Dakota is suffering while Iran is thriving.” He criticized the policies that prioritize shutting down the U.S. energy industry in the name of environmental conservation.
Instead of imposing more regulations, Burgum advocated for innovation as the key to environmental preservation. He also highlighted the potential ramifications of the Biden administration’s push for all Americans to transition to electric cars, noting that it plays into China’s control over 85% of the world’s rare earth minerals.
