Grenell tells Newsmax: Immigration ‘Revolt’ underway in EU

Former Ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell emphasized the need for the United States to pay attention to the recent political shifts in Europe. Speaking with Newsmax on Monday, Grenell described the move towards conservatism in Europe as a reaction against progressive and woke policies.

In the past four days, Europeans have voted out progressive leaders in parliamentary elections in favor of conservative alternatives. French President Emmanuel Macron has dissolved parliament and called for snap national elections in response to the shifting political landscape.

Grenell appeared on “Rob Schmitt Tonight” and suggested that the surge of conservatism in western Europe could foreshadow a similar trend in the U.S., potentially leading to a change in leadership in the upcoming November elections favoring Donald Trump and his policies.

Grenell pointed out the rise of the ultra-conservative Alternative for Germany (AfD) as an example of the backlash against progressive policies in Europe.

In discussing immigration, Grenell referenced a recent poll showing that a majority of Americans across the political spectrum support the deportation of illegal immigrants. He emphasized the importance of enforcing existing laws and providing consequences for those who break them.
