A 26-year-old man from Haiti, accused of murdering three family members last week, reportedly entered the U.S. through a migrant program initiated by former President Joe Biden.

Mackendy Darbouze, aged 26, allegedly killed his 77-year-old relative Beatrice Desir, alongside a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old, who are also family members.
The tragic stabbing incident took place on February 21st.
“Authorities responded to a 911 call at a residence where they discovered three deceased individuals and a bloody knife. Officers apprehended Darbouze at the scene,” the ICE has reported.
While authorities were investigating, they eventually found the bloody weapon hidden in Darbouze’s room.
The Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “was alerted and quickly assisted with interviewing Darbouze, who only communicated in Creole. An interpreter was provided, and Darbouze faced three counts of first-degree murder,” according to an ICE statement.
Darbouze is currently being detained at the Cumberland County Detention Center without the possibility of bond.
ICE disclosed that Darbouze was allowed entry into the United States in July, utilizing Biden’s program for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela — known as the “CHNV parole program.”
This initiative aimed to decrease illegal border crossings, though many have criticized it as a method for the Biden administration to facilitate the entry of more undocumented immigrants without classifying them as illegal crossings in official statistics.
“Since the inception of the CHNV parole program, over 530,000 individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela have entered the United States lawfully, supported by sponsors based in the U.S.,” stated the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.
The program commenced in 2022, allowing 30,000 asylum seekers from the four aforementioned countries to enter the United States. It was designed to mitigate illegal crossings, although evidence suggests it did not effectively decrease the number of migrants arriving in the country.
Former President Donald Trump terminated the program shortly after taking office through an executive order.
