Haley Remains Optimistic After Big N.H. Loss: ‘The Race Is Far From Over’
Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley remained optimistic despite her loss in the New Hampshire primary, reminding her supporters that while the Granite State is the first to vote, it does not signal the end of her candidacy.
Haley conceded the primary loss to Donald Trump but emphasized that the race is far from over. Even though Newsmax analysts pointed out that her concession speech was given with less than one-third of the votes in, calling a loss so early remains “psychologically devastating”. Rick Santorum, a political analyst and former Pennsylvania Sen., expressed that the early call for the race is psychologically devastating for Nikki Haley.
Despite the potential margin of defeat, pollster John Zogby made it clear that a good showing is not enough for Nikki Haley; she needed to win New Hampshire. He stressed that even a close loss in her home state of South Carolina would not suffice.
In her concession speech, Haley congratulated Donald Trump on his victory, acknowledging that he had earned it and emphasizing that the race was far from over. She remained hopeful, pointing out that New Hampshire is just the beginning and that she was focused on the upcoming primary in South Carolina.
