Harvard Poll Shows 80% Support for Israel in Hamas Conflict
It may seem like Americans are turning against Israel and supporting Hamas based on what is seen on evening news and cable news outlets in the United States. However, a recent Harvard/Harris poll indicates that this assumption is far from accurate.
The reality is that the vast majority of Americans are standing with Israel despite the harsh criticisms it faces from the mainstream media, radical groups on college campuses, and progressive Members of Congress. The poll conducted in late April showed that 80% of Americans support Israel in its conflict with Hamas.
Nearly 7 in 10 Americans believe that Israel is acting morally in its fight against Hamas. The poll revealed that 67% of Americans think that Israel is making efforts to minimize civilian casualties during the conflict.
Additionally, 56% of Americans back the $26 billion aid package recently passed by Congress and signed by President Joe Biden, which includes providing arms and ammunition to Israel on an emergency basis and delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
On October 7, 209 days ago, Hamas invaded Israeli communities bordering the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 1,200 innocent individuals. The Harvard CAPS Harris poll, conducted on April 24-25, 2024, surveyed 1,961 registered American voters.
