Hillary Clinton criticizes Supreme Court for giving Trump immunity, calling it a ‘grave disservice’
According to Hillary Clinton, the Supreme Court is doing a disservice by delaying its ruling on former President Donald Trump’s claims of presidential immunity. Clinton expressed her concerns on Thursday during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to promote the Broadway musical “Sufts,” which she produced.
During the Supreme Court case, efforts were made to find loopholes and create opportunities for Trump to potentially overturn an election, as well as allegations of mishandling classified material for personal reasons, Clinton stated.
The Supreme Court appears inclined to acknowledge some level of immunity for former presidents from prosecution over official actions. This could further delay Trump’s election-related case as lower courts determine which allegations are covered by this legal protection.
Highlighting the seriousness of the allegations against Trump, Clinton urged voters to think twice before entrusting the country to him.
Trump’s trial in Florida, where he faces charges of illegally keeping classified documents after leaving office, has been indefinitely postponed. This greatly reduces the likelihood of him facing a jury in the federal criminal cases against him before the upcoming election.
Clinton emphasized the importance of timely justice, stating that voters may go to the polls without knowing the outcome of these trials.
Regarding Trump’s ongoing trial in Manhattan, Clinton believes it is about election interference and preventing the public from having relevant information that could have influenced their voting decisions in 2016.
