Hillary Honors ‘She Was Right’ Merchandise Following Trump Verdict
Hillary Clinton couldn’t contain her excitement after Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in New York and decided to capitalize on the moment by offering merchandise that reflects her thoughts on the former president’s legal issues.
“We just released some new merch inspired by a phrase I hear often,” Clinton, who was defeated by Trump in the 2016 presidential election, posted on Instagram on Thursday, sharing a picture of a mug with the words, “Turns out she was right about everything.” “The design was finalized today. By purchasing, you’ll be supporting Onward Together groups defending democracy … and you’ll get a pretty awesome mug for your tea.”
The ceramic mug, priced at $22, features an illustration of Clinton, without facial features, drinking from a coffee cup. The same illustration is also featured on a tote bag that costs $28.
Onward Together is a progressive political action committee established by Clinton after her loss to Trump. According to its website, its mission is to promote progressive values and work towards creating a better future for future generations.
Earlier this month, the Washington Examiner reported that Onward Together’s nonprofit advocacy arm donated $500,000 to the Climate Emergency Fund, a radical environmental group that supports disruptive anti-oil protest groups like Just Stop Oil. A protest by Just Stop Oil in 2022 led to tomato soup being thrown on a Vincent van Gogh painting worth $84 million at London’s National Gallery.
Trump made history on Thursday as the first former U.S. president to be convicted of felony crimes after a New York jury found him guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a $130,000 payment made by his former attorney Michael Cohen to porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
That evening, Clinton spoke at the Vital Voices Global Partnership’s 23rd annual Global Leadership Awards in Washington, D.C.
“Anything interesting happening today?” Clinton joked, receiving applause and laughter. “Well, there’s no other place I’d rather be than right here.”
This isn’t the first time Clinton has used Trump’s legal troubles to promote merchandise. In 2022, after reports emerged that Trump had flushed papers down a White House toilet – allegations his team denied – Clinton advertised baseball caps with the slogan “But her emails” on them, available for $32 on Onward Together’s website.
She promoted the same caps after the FBI raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate to secure presidential documents, some of which were classified, and again after he was indicted on charges related to the documents.
Clinton faced criticism for using a personal email server during her time as Secretary of State in the Obama administration for official government communications, which was a violation of protocol. An FBI report by then-Director James Comey revealed that the server contained 110 emails in 52 email chains with classified information. However, Comey concluded that there was no criminal intent on Clinton’s part.
