House GOP Representative Steve Scalise Diagnosed With Blood Cancer

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise has announced that he has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. He expressed gratitude that it was detected early and mentioned that the cancer is treatable. Scalise plans to continue working during his treatment. Scalise had previously been injured in a shooting incident in 2017. Another congressman, Jamie Raskin, had also revealed his cancer diagnosis in December but stated in April that he was in remission.
