Israeli Airstrike Targets Yemen Airport and Power Plants in Ongoing Retaliation Against Houthis – One America News Network

Recent reports indicate that the Israeli military has effectively incapacitated Yemen’s international airport and several power stations following a series of retaliatory airstrikes on the capital city on Tuesday.

The aftermath of these airstrikes left clouds of smoke and debris rising above Sanaa International Airport, leading to a full evacuation of the area.
“We urge you to evacuate the airport area immediately and advise anyone nearby to keep their distance,” IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated on social media. “Not evacuating the vicinity could endanger your lives.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) elaborated on the rationale for the airstrikes, asserting that the hospital was being used by the Houthis to transport their “weapons and operatives.”
In addition, the airstrikes have destroyed several power facilities near the airport, which were allegedly used by the Islamist terrorist group, as well as a cement factory situated north of the capital.
These latest retaliatory actions follow a series of missile and drone assaults launched by the Houthis against Israel, including attacks on the country’s busiest airport, as noted by the IDF.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has consistently warned that the nation will continue to respond to the Houthi assaults on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
The strikes on Monday involved nearly two dozen Israeli Air Force fighter jets deploying at least 50 munitions over the Hodeidah port and a concrete factory located in the city of Bajil.
According to the Houthi-operated Ministry of Health, the strikes resulted in at least five fatalities and 74 injuries. However, it is important to note that in past conflicts, Islamist groups in the region have been known to exaggerate or minimize casualties; this information has not been independently verified by other sources.
During the airstrikes on Tuesday, the IDF emphasized that they were targeting Houthi strongholds linked to the group’s financial operations and weapon transportation. Additionally, the Houthi strikes have disrupted a significant shipping route.
