Jason Miller Urges RNC to Improve Upon Past Elections, Tells Newsmax

Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel has been taking heat from conservatives who are pushing her to resign after six years on the job, especially after reports the organization disclosed its lowest cash on hand at the end of November since 2016.

Former President Donald Trump was not among those calling for McDaniel’s head, although he has been at odds with the RNC over its support for him through the presidential primary campaign.

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, told Newsmax on Tuesday any issues with McDaniel are secondary as long as the RNC rights its ship as the 2024 election cycle begins in earnest with the Republican Iowa caucus on Jan. 15.

“What I can say as someone who’s working on the president’s campaign team is that the party has to be in a much better place heading into next fall, both with regard to identifying voters, turning out voters and making sure that the ballots that are cast are very secure,” Miller told “Eric Bolling The Balance.” “That’s going to be paramount of anything that a party apparatus, whether it’s at the national level, state level, even down to the local precinct level we have to do, and we have to do it better than we have in previous elections.”

Miller said at this point in the primary season, given that Trump has such a significant lead in the polls over his rivals for the GOP nomination, it’s not the RNC’s job to favor one candidate.

“It’s really about making sure that there is a process set up with the various caucuses or primaries as we go through the nominating procedure,” Miller said. “But President Trump has put together that support. He is leading by some 50 points nationally. We look at Iowa, where he’s ahead by 30-some points. New polling out of New Hampshire shows President Trump ahead by 30 or so. Even in South Carolina, where Nikki Haley is from, we’re leading by 30 or more points.

“We’ve really gone and set the standard for what it’s going to be for this primary. But once President Trump is formally the nominee, we’ve got to make sure that everybody falls in line and, quite frankly, with as far ahead as he is right now, that time is, I think, pretty soon.”
