Recently acquitted Marine veteran Daniel Penny has received an invitation from Vice President-elect JD Vance to attend the Army-Navy football game this Saturday, according to multiple reports.

At the game taking place in Landover, Maryland, Penny is anticipated to be in Vance’s (R-Ohio) suite alongside President-elect Donald Trump.

Penny’s charges were dropped earlier this week concerning the death of Jordan Neely, a homeless subway rider. Neely had been threatening passengers in a New York City subway car, and Penny intervened by placing him in a chokehold.

“I’ve refrained from commenting on this case to avoid (negatively) impacting the jury,” Vance shared on X following the verdict on Monday. “But I am relieved that justice was served in this case. It was outrageous that Penny was prosecuted to begin with.”

“Daniel is an admirable individual, and New York’s rogue district attorney sought to destroy his life for having the courage to act,” Vance wrote on X this Friday. “I’m thankful he accepted my invitation and hope he enjoys himself while recognizing the admiration from his fellow citizens for his bravery.”

On Tuesday, Penny participated in a Fox Nation interview with Judge Jeanine Pirro—his first comments following the acquittal. He described himself as “not a confrontational person” but expressed concern for safety when Neely entered his subway car behaving erratically.

“I’ll endure a million court appearances and the name-calling and hatred directed at me just to prevent even one person from getting hurt or killed,” Penny stated.

In a celebration of his acquittal, Penny was seen enjoying a beer at a local bar.
