JD Vance Leading in Turning Point Straw Poll for VP Selection
Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, emerged as the top choice for former President Donald Trump’s running mate in a recent straw poll.
At Turning Point Action’s The People’s Convention in Detroit, 1,986 attendees were surveyed on their preference for the presumptive Republican nominee’s vice-presidential candidate.
According to the Daily Mail, Vance led with 43% support, followed by Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., at 15.4%, and a tie between Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum for third place.
Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point Action and Turning Point USA, praised Vance’s ability to connect with Midwest voters, stating, “His message and appeal clearly resonates with this critical voting bloc.”
Trump is expected to announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on July 15.
The survey was conducted by Big Data Poll and The People’s Pundit.
