Jesse Binnall Responds to Newsmax: New York Attorney General’s Argument Lacks Substance

New York Attorney General Letitia James’ key argument about former President Donald Trump defrauding the banks falls flat, Trump attorney Jesse Binnall told Newsmax on Monday.

One of the most important facts in Trump’s New York civil fraud case, Binnall told “American Agenda,” is “that no banks ever said that they felt they fell victim here.”

“This was something where President Trump and his company always acted appropriately, and the banks who received these statements they acted appropriately, too,” Binnall said. “They did their own valuations … In order to get a proper valuation, you have to find what a willing buyer and a willing seller would agree on a price for. And, so, I think the expert testimony in this is going to be very, very important.”

Among the issues Binnall finds most alarming in the case is the judge’s transparent bias toward a defendant.

“The very, very sad thing is what this case does to the rule of law in America,” Binnall said. “Something that we have always been proud about as Americans is no matter who you are, if you walk into a courtroom, you’re going to receive fair justice.”

While some on the left may applaud Justice Arthur F. Engoron and some on the right oppose him, Binnall said “nobody thinks this is a fair process.”

“[Engoron] made up his mind from the very, very beginning,” Binnall said. “And much more than Donald Trump, what’s being hurt right now is the rule of law in America.”
