Jill Stein Warns of Potential Vote Shift from Biden in Pennsylvania
The campaign for Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein announced this week she has completed almost all the criteria to be placed on Pennsylvania’s 2024 election ballot, raising concerns for President Joe Biden’s reelection chances.
Stein’s campaign informed the Washington Examiner that she is just a few hundred votes away from meeting the 5,000 required signatures to appear on Pennsylvania’s presidential ballot before the Aug. 1 deadline.
Alex Casper, the Green Party’s secretary in Pennsylvania, acknowledged the challenges faced by third-party candidates in the state. Despite the obstacles, the Green Party aims to exceed the 5,000 signature requirement by aiming for 10,000 by July 27.
“We are confident,” Casper stated, “that with strong volunteer efforts, we will secure a spot on the ballot and challenge the current two-party system.”
Pennsylvania is expected to be a critical battleground in the upcoming election. While the Green Party was on the state’s ballot in 2012 and 2016, they fell short in 2020.
In the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton blamed Stein for siphoning votes and handing the victory to Donald Trump. Stein received 49,941 votes in Pennsylvania, where Clinton lost by 44,292. In 2020, Biden won the state by a narrow margin of 1.2%.
To prevent a repeat of 2016, the DNC has enlisted top strategists to combat third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“Nobody steals votes in a democracy,” said Stein campaign manager Jason Call to Newsmax. “Votes must be earned, and we refuse to owe anything to Biden, especially while he supports actions like genocide. The manipulation by the duopoly parties must end.”
