Jimmy Carter’s Grandson Believes Former President is ‘Approaching the End’
According to his grandson, former President Jimmy Carter is nearing the end.
Jason Carter provided an update on the 99-year-old at the 28th Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum in Atlanta. He mentioned that his grandfather has been in hospice care for almost a year and a half.
“He really is, I think, approaching the end of his journey, as there’s a significant part of his faith that can only be lived at the very end,” Jason Carter shared.
Recently, he visited his grandfather in Plains, Georgia, where they watched an Atlanta Braves game together.
Jimmy Carter has been receiving hospice care at home since February 2023 and has survived metastatic brain and liver cancer. The Carter family announced three months ago that he would no longer go to the hospital and would enter end-of-life care at home.
Rosalynn Carter, who passed away in November, was married to Jimmy Carter for 77 years. Jimmy Carter was present at her funeral in his wheelchair.
