Joe DiGenova predicts Hunter will be acquitted by the jury as an ‘act of mercy,’ he tells Newsmax
According to former U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., Joe diGenova, Hunter Biden is expected to be acquitted on three federal gun crimes by a Delaware jury. DiGenova shared this insight on Newsmax on Monday.
The jury has started deliberations in the trial of President Joe Biden’s son, who is accused of illegally purchasing a revolver while using drugs and providing false information about his drug use on federal forms during the purchase. If found guilty, Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison and a $750,000 fine.
DiGenova stated, “The evidence clearly shows that he broke the law. There is no doubt about that. The real question is whether the jury will nullify the evidence and practice jury nullification to acquit him out of compassion. I believe there is a high likelihood of him being acquitted out of mercy.”
If Hunter Biden is acquitted, how will the public perceive it, especially given that he is the first child of a sitting U.S. president facing criminal charges? According to diGenova, “People will view it as a situation where the Bidens influenced the jury due to their strong presence in the courtroom. The decision to acquit will likely be seen as a sympathetic gesture towards the Biden family.”
