Joe Exotic Intensifies Push for Presidential Pardon from Trump – One America News Network

According to his legal representatives, Donald Trump is urged to grant a pardon to Joe Maldonado, famously known as Joe Exotic, who gained notoriety from the popular Netflix series “Tiger King” released during the pandemic.

During a recent press conference, Maldonado’s legal team asserted that he did not engage anyone to commit murder. They claimed that Netflix opted for the sensational ‘murder-for-hire’ narrative as it was more captivating than a standard documentary format.
In 2019, Maldonado was found guilty and sentenced to 22 years in prison for two counts of attempted murder for hire related to a plot against Carole Baskin. His sentence was later reduced to 21 years in 2021.
Baskin, who also appeared in “Tiger King,” was involved in a complex rivalry with Maldonado that started back in 2009.
Maldonado has continuously refuted the accusations of hiring a hitman to target Baskin.
His attorneys contend that all Trump needs to do is review the presented facts.
“The timing of this announcement is significant, as Joe wants President Trump, who has previously addressed this issue, to hear the facts again and bring his case into public discussion,” said his attorney, Levi G. McCathern.
“We directly appeal to President Trump, and I urge you, the public, to help free Joe Exotic. He does not deserve to be in prison,” McCathern expressed. “This is a man wrongfully convicted. He sought a new trial but was denied that opportunity. You should at least consider reviewing the evidence and forming your own opinions.”
Maldonado requested a pardon during Trump’s first term, and his lawyers remain hopeful that Trump may be more understanding now.
