On Friday, President Donald Trump declared that former President Joe Biden’s security clearance and his access to classified information have been revoked “immediately.”

“There is no justification for Joe Biden to retain access to classified information. Hence, we are promptly revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances and discontinuing his daily Intelligence Briefings,” Trump stated in a post on Truth Social on Friday.

“He established this precedent in 2021 by directing the Intelligence Community (IC) to prevent the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from having access to National Security details, a courtesy typically extended to former Presidents. The Hur Report indicated that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and could not be trusted with sensitive information even in his ‘prime.’ I will always safeguard our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he continued.

Trump mentioned Biden’s earlier decision to revoke his own intelligence briefings after Trump’s first term, during which Biden claimed, “I just think there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings.”

“What benefit is there in providing him with an intelligence briefing? What influence does he have at all, except for the possibility of inadvertently disclosing something?”

Moreover, Trump referred to the Hur Report, which was investigated and submitted by Special Counsel Robert Hur last February, concerning Biden’s retention of classified information. Hur later testified in March that “pride and money” were motivations for the former president to keep the classified documents.

The report also raised questions about Biden’s cognitive abilities, as he reportedly experienced frequent memory lapses. Despite Hur’s findings, he did not recommend any charges against Biden due to his poor mental state and lack of sufficient evidence for prosecution.

“I did not sanitize my explanation. Nor did I unfairly criticize the president,” Hur added.
