John Bolton Tells Newsmax: Biden’s Focus on Appeasing Iran is ‘Obsessive’
Former National Security Adviser John Bolton told Newsmax on Tuesday that the Biden administration’s condolence message to Iran over President Ebrahim Raisi’s death demonstrates its unwavering desire to appease a regime known for sponsoring terrorism.
The U.S. State Department quickly issued its condolences following Raisi’s sudden death in a helicopter crash over the weekend. Raisi, known to his own people as the ‘Butcher of Tehran,’ sparked demonstrations across Iran upon news of his demise.
Bolton, a former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., emphasized the opportunity for the people of Iran to potentially bring down their government, but criticized the Biden administration’s relentless pursuit of appeasement as misguided and degrading for the U.S.
In another topic, Bolton discussed the International Criminal Court’s seeking of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for their actions during the war against Hamas in Gaza. Bolton highlighted the ICC’s anti-American bias and the symbolic importance of Israel as a warning sign for the U.S.
