Former national security adviser and U.N. Ambassador John Bolton believes that a guilty verdict for former President Donald Trump could harm his chances of winning in the 2024 election. Bolton stated in an interview that even Trump’s most ardent supporters, known as “MAGA Trumpers,” may not want to vote for a convicted felon. He criticized Republican candidates who pledged their support for Trump even if he were convicted, stating that it would be a mistake for the party. Bolton also suggested that if the Democrats nominated someone other than Joe Biden, they would have a better chance against Trump.
