Karoline Leavitt tells Newsmax: Trump Campaign Gains One-Quarter of New Donors in May

Karoline Leavitt, national press secretary for the Trump 2024 campaign, shared with Newsmax on Tuesday that 25% of the enormous fundraising haul in May came from first-time donors to former President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee.

“In the month of May, we raised a massive $141 million, with more coming in, and a quarter of those donors are new supporters,” Leavitt said during “Wake Up America.” She added, “It reflects the awakening of people across the country due to President Joe Biden’s administration and the political persecution against President Trump.”

Following his guilty verdict on all 34 felony counts in New York last week, the 45th president was convicted by a Manhattan jury for concealing payments made to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election by falsifying business records.

Leavitt criticized the trial as “a sham” and “a show trial,” pointing to the manipulation of the justice system under Joe Biden while the country faces various crises.

She highlighted issues like the open border, recent crimes by illegal immigrants, and economic challenges to emphasize that Americans are dissatisfied with the current state and are seeking change.

Regarding the fundraising numbers, Leavitt stated that Americans are rallying for President Trump to return to the White House and tackle pressing issues like border security, inflation, affordable gasoline, and global peace restoration.

In collaboration with the RNC, the Trump campaign announced on Monday that the $141 million raised in May came from over 2 million donations, with additional organizations raising $150 million, totaling nearly $300 million in funds raised last month.

After Trump’s guilty verdict, the campaign received $53 million within 24 hours, causing a surge in donations that briefly crashed the fundraising website.
