Karoline Leavitt Tells Newsmax: Trump’s New York Trial is a ‘Sham,’ a ‘Waste of Time’
Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, expressed to Newsmax on Monday that Michael Cohen’s testimony during Trump’s criminal trial in New York further highlighted the prosecution’s ineffectiveness and time-wasting nature.
Cohen, a former Trump attorney who was disbarred in New York, and served a prison term after being convicted on various charges, including tax evasion and lying to Congress, was a key witness in the case brought by Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg against Trump.
Despite the allegations of falsifying business records to conceal a payment to Stormy Daniels, Trump has pleaded not guilty and denies any wrongdoing.
Leavitt, who was present in court with Trump, criticized the prosecution’s lack of evidence and focus on the alleged crimes. She emphasized that the case against Trump is baseless and a waste of time for all involved.
She further highlighted the strong support Trump continues to receive, referencing large crowds at recent rallies and positive reactions in New Jersey and Manhattan.
