Ken Buck condemns Marjorie Taylor Greene for her stance against aid to Ukraine
Former Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., strongly criticized Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., for her recent controversial stance on Ukraine, labeling her as “Moscow Marjorie” and accusing her of echoing Russian propaganda.
In an interview on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront,” Buck harshly rebuked Greene, stating, “Moscow Marjorie has reached a new low.” He likened her to “useful idiots” as described by Bolshevik Revolution leader Vladimir Lenin, saying, “She is merely parroting Russian propaganda and undermining American foreign policy in the process.”
Greene’s comments during a House Oversight Committee meeting sparked controversy. She referenced news reports and displayed images alleging neo-Nazis in Ukraine, expressing concerns about what she termed as misinformation regarding “the Nazis in Ukraine and their recruitment efforts worldwide.”
MTG recently argued against foreign aid on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, advocating for an “America First” approach. She criticized the traditional Republican foreign policy stance, asserting, “The era of the old Republican Party that funds foreign wars and causes harm in other countries is over.”
“I don’t mind if the [House of Representatives] Speaker’s office becomes a revolving door,” Greene continued, who has filed a motion to oust Johnson from his current role. “If that’s what needs to happen, so be it.”
Despite Greene’s opposition, the House proceeded with legislation to provide assistance to Ukraine and other allies. The foreign aid measure passed by a significant margin of 316-94, paving the way for discussions on bills related to military aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, as well as humanitarian aid for Gaza.
Buck’s critique of Greene is not new. He previously dubbed her “Moscow Marjorie,” citing her focus on controversial topics rather than substantive legislative work. Buck pointed out her fixation on social media and accused her of taking cues from the Kremlin to enhance her popularity and media coverage.
“Moscow Marjorie is now fixated on the Ukraine issue, getting her talking points from the Kremlin to ensure she remains popular and receives ample coverage,” Buck remarked.
