L.A. Protesters Against ICE Block Major Freeway for Hours Without Arrests – One America News Network

On Sunday, a massive crowd of protesters descended upon the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, displaying Mexican flags and opposing President Donald Trump’s extensive deportation policies.

The protest effectively closed the freeway for several hours, causing significant traffic delays in both directions.
Witnesses recounted seeing numerous passionate demonstrators traversing the highway, brandishing signs featuring various artworks and messages denouncing Trump’s policies regarding illegal immigration.
The California Highway Patrol reacted swiftly to the disruptive situation: “Drivers should stay clear of the 101 freeway in DTLA between 1-110 and Mission Rd., as we are working to clear the protest from the roadway. Protesting on state highways is illegal and poses serious dangers to protesters, motorists, and emergency responders.”
According to a CHP spokesperson, law enforcement wearing riot gear managed to disperse the crowd approximately five hours after the freeway was initially shut down.
However, once the highway was reopened, protesters returned to the roadway later that night, though no arrests were reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The demonstrations were sparked by the Trump administration’s aggressive deportation strategy, focusing on violent illegal immigrants deemed a significant risk to American communities.
On social media, users criticized the protests, with one remarking, “The Mexico Flags are out in full force. You’d never know it but this is America, not Mexico.”
“Let me get this straight: In Los Angeles, some people are raising flags from different countries as a protest against being deported to those same countries? I honestly don’t understand,” another user commented.
A third user highlighted the apparent hypocrisy of the L.A. protesters who often criticize the United States and its core values yet seem to grasp why many migrants seek to live in America instead of their home countries.
Throughout the protest, several signs featured slogans like: “We Are Not Criminals,” “MAGA – Mexicans always get across,” and “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
