Despite the former president’s claims of election fraud, Lara Trump mentioned that there have been changes in embracing early voting and supporting down-party races. She also clarified that the RNC does not directly fund her father-in-law’s legal bills, but rather has a joint fundraising agreement to handle such expenses without using RNC funds.

These statements were made in an interview with NBC News after Lara Trump was appointed as the RNC’s co-chair. She highlighted the restructuring within the RNC to better support Donald Trump’s future campaigns, emphasizing the need for unity and effective allocation of donated funds.

Despite initial concerns about her family name potentially influencing RNC decisions, Lara Trump assured that her experience from working on three of his presidential campaigns contributes to her qualifications for the role. She also addressed the importance of donors having the option to opt out of funding her father-in-law’s legal fees.

In a separate appearance on Sirius XM’s “The David Webb Show,” Lara Trump emphasized the importance of maximizing donated funds for the Republican cause. She pointed out the improved collaboration between the Trump campaign and the RNC, highlighting their unified efforts in supporting Donald Trump as the party’s nominee.
