Lara Trump Tells Newsmax: Democrats Outraged By Trump’s Success in Iowa

Left-wing media pundits downplayed former President Donald Trump’s landslide victory in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night, arguing that his 51% of the vote was underwhelming for a de facto incumbent party nominee.

MSNBC political analyst and former Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., stated on the network Tuesday that Trump’s performance “is not good. … I don’t care how they spin it. I get it that he won more delegates than the other candidates, but he got 50% of the vote in his own party after being an incumbent president.”

Lara Trump, a daughter-in-law of the former president, told Newsmax on Tuesday that liberals are so poisoned by their hatred of her farther-in-law that it is prohibiting them from thinking straight.

“These people, obviously, are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome,” she told “Rob Schmitt Tonight.” “That’s pretty clear. This was a historic win. This race was called in 23 minutes, the largest margin of victory prior to last night’s win … [was] 12.8 [percentage points by Bob Dole in 1988). He won by over [29%]. That is huge. That is resounding. That speaks volumes, and what it tells all of those people who get paid way too much money to try and destroy our country is that Donald Trump is the Republican nominee.

“He is the choice that the American people want to see go forward, and I believe he will be the 47th president of the United States.”

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who was central to House Democrats’ first impeachment of the former president, downplayed Trump’s victory in a post on X, writing that Trump “looks very vulnerable. It’s just a single data point, but this spells disaster for him in a general election. Almost 50% of a hardcore Republican electorate is not interested in what he’s pedaling. Not sure why the media is missing this.”

“If you go based on the Democrats’ educational system and what they would like to do to our educational system here in America, this shouldn’t surprise anyone that they can’t even do basic math and don’t understand how any of this works,” Lara Trump, who is married to the former president’s son Eric Trump, said, “What I would like to ask them is, how do they think their guy, Joe Biden, as an actual incumbent, would stack up to just about anyone?

“Heck, I’d put my dog Charlie in the race against Joe Biden, and I bet he would get over 50% of the vote. My dog, not Joe Biden, that is.”

Lara Trump mentioned a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll that showed Biden’s approval rating at 33%, the lowest for any president in 15 years. She said it is not a good sign for Democrats going into an election year. Trump’s approval rating at this time in 2020 was 49%, according to Gallup.

“These people are terrified. And quite frankly,” she said. “I don’t know how they actually make it to Nov. 5 with Joe Biden as their candidate.”
