Lara Trump tells Newsmax that Trump’s supposed crime is just an ‘Accounting Mistake’
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump criticized the venue selection for former President Donald Trump’s trial on Newsmax Thursday. She alleged bias and portrayed his alleged crime as an accounting error meant to sideline him from the campaign trail.
Trump stated, “If they move this trial to any other area of this country, you would possibly get a fair trial. This wouldn’t even see the light of day. They’re alleging an accounting error as the reason to hold Donald Trump hostage in a courtroom.”
12 New Yorkers have been selected as jurors for the trial, marking the first criminal trial against a former U.S. president. The case involves a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016, with prosecutors accusing Trump of falsely categorizing reimbursements to conceal the payment.
Trump expressed that the trial is not about fairness, but about keeping Donald Trump off the campaign trail. She mentioned that the campaign raised $3 million in donations in just three days, showing continued support for Trump.
