Leavitt Voices Confidence in Trump Appeal, Speaking to Newsmax

Karoline Leavitt, spokesperson for former President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign, stated on Monday on Newsmax that his legal team is “100% confident” that his convictions on multiple counts of falsifying business records will be overturned.

Last week, Trump was convicted in a Manhattan court on 34 felony charges of falsifying business records related to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. He continues to deny the charges and has vowed to appeal the verdict.

During an appearance on “National Report”, Leavitt mentioned that she could not speculate about Trump’s sentencing scheduled for July 11, but she accused Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the criminal trial, of being “crooked,” “highly partisan,” and “corrupt.”

Leavitt also highlighted that Trump’s legal team plans to escalate the appeal process, potentially up to the Supreme Court if necessary, and they are completely confident that the case will eventually be overturned. She emphasized that there are more grounds for appeal in this case than in any other Manhattan Criminal Court case, and the truth will prevail as it is believed to be a baseless case.

Despite the convictions, Leavitt affirmed that the Trump campaign will persist and fight on. She stated that Trump is unwavering in his mission to save the country and intends to campaign through November, officially being the Republican nominee at the summer convention.

Leavitt refuted assertions that Trump inflated his fundraising numbers post-conviction, asserting that the campaign indeed raised “$53 million in 24 hours,” and this figure will be verified in the May fundraising report.
