Description
The Epoch Times is seeking freelance writers to contribute to our lifestyle coverage, on one or more of the following topics: home, gardening, food, wellness, style, and etiquette.
Applicants should be experienced writers who can craft clean, clear, and engaging articles on both pitched and assigned topics, including original interviews with experts and personalities in the lifestyle space, and supplementing with research as needed. Articles may include profiles, reported culture/trend pieces, and/or practical how-to’s with expert tips for our readers.
The ideal candidate is interested in and up-to-date on lifestyle trends, but grounded in traditional values, in line with The Epoch Times tagline “Truth and Tradition.” (More about us here: https://www.theepochtimes.com/about-us) The ideal candidate is passionate about creating informative, engaging content to help readers live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Duties
– Pitch, report/research, and write articles on one or more of the following topics: home, gardening, food, wellness, style, and etiquette.
– Write clear and concise articles, ensuring timely publication and adherence to our editorial guidelines.
– Conduct original interviews with sources.
– Work with editors to incorporate feedback and make revisions as needed.
Job Requirements
– At least 2 years journalism experience in the lifestyle space.
– Excellent writing, interviewing, researching, and fact-checking skills.
– Strong news judgment and a keen eye for identifying relevant and timely health stories.
– Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce clean and engaging copy under tight deadlines.
– Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Pay Range
$200-$300 per article, depending on length (600-1200 words). The quoted pay range per article represents our good faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range according to the selected candidate’s experience, location, technical skills, and other factors.
