Jamison Wagner was apprehended by FBI agents following the two arson events, both reportedly initiated with “homemade incendiary devices,” as stated by the Department of Justice.
The arson incident at the Tesla showroom in Albuquerque took place on February 9th, damaging “two Tesla vehicles, one of which sustained significant damage.”

“Red and black spray-painted graffiti appeared on the building and on six other vehicles, including phrases such as ‘Die Elon,’ ‘Tesla Nazi Inc,’ and ‘Die Tesla Nazi,’ along with swastika symbols,” the DOJ report detailed.
The subsequent incident occurred on March 30th at the New Mexico Republican Party (RPNM) office.
According to the DOJ’s press release, the fire “caused significant damage to the front door and entry area of the building.”
“Graffiti reading ‘ICE=KKK’ was discovered on the south wall,” the statement added.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage and evidence from both scenes, “Investigators identified both arsons as involving homemade incendiary devices made with glass containers and flammable liquids. The investigation linked Wagner as a significant person of interest in both cases, notably matching the suspect’s physical description captured in the available footage.”
The evidence led to FBI and ATF agents obtaining a search warrant, executed on April 12th, during which they discovered several “assembled suspected incendiary devices,” along with “materials for manufacturing additional incendiary devices” and a “stencil bearing the phrase ‘ICE=KKK,’ consistent with graffiti found at the PRNM fire site.”
Wagner faces two counts of malicious property damage or destruction via fire or explosives and “will remain in custody pending a detention hearing, which has yet to be scheduled. If convicted, he risks between five to 20 years in prison for each charge,” the DOJ confirmed.
“This should serve as a stern warning to anyone participating in the ongoing wave of political violence,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi. “We will apprehend you, we will prosecute you, and we will not engage in negotiations. Criminal activities have repercussions.”
Deputy Director Robert Cekada of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) commented: “A key suspect is now in custody thanks to the outstanding efforts of ATF’s Special Agents, certified fire investigators, and forensic experts.”
“This arrest signifies a vital stride toward justice regarding the firebombing incidents at the Tesla dealership and the New Mexico Republican Party Headquarters. Our teams worked tirelessly—gathering, analyzing, and correlating forensic evidence from both locations. With our local partners’ support, the FBI, and the timely response of ATF’s forensic lab, we successfully linked the crimes, identified the perpetrators, and acted swiftly to ensure public safety. This exemplifies ATF’s mission: following evidence, uncovering the truth, and holding offenders accountable,” Cekada added.
Additionally, FBI Director Kash Patel issued a statement.
“This arrest is part of the FBI’s determined initiative to investigate and hold responsible those who have targeted Tesla facilities nationwide,” Patel stated.
“Under Attorney General Bondi’s guidance, we will persist in locating and arresting those accountable for these domestic terrorism acts, and the FBI will collaborate with the Department of Justice to ensure these offenders face justice.”
