Many Hostages Held by Hamas Have Died, Trump Warns

Former President Donald Trump is warning that the number of hostages still alive and being held by Hamas is “far fewer” than commonly believed, stating that “many of them are gone.”

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday morning, Trump highlighted the difficulty Hamas faces in making a deal with Israel to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has been ongoing for nearly six months.

Trump expressed his belief that “Hamas is incapable of holding Jewish people for a long period of time without killing them,” and he predicted that the situation will only deteriorate further.

The exact number of remaining hostages is a key issue in negotiations for a cease-fire deal, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Proposals for a deal have involved Israel releasing Palestinian prisoners in exchange for approximately 40 Israeli hostages. However, there is uncertainty surrounding the number and identities of the hostages still being held by Hamas.

The IDF has confirmed the deaths of 34 out of the 129 remaining hostages abducted on October 7th, with estimations suggesting that the actual number of deaths could be higher.

Trump placed blame on President Joe Biden for the ongoing conflict, criticizing his lack of leadership and stating that such an event would not have occurred if he were still president.
