Marc Elias, Democratic lawyer, acknowledges challenging jury pool for Trump in Washington D.C.

In a recent social media post, prominent Democrat lawyer Marc Elias, a key figure in the Russia collusion hoax, appeared to acknowledge that former President Donald Trump may face challenges in receiving a fair trial in his upcoming federal case related to the 2020 election.

Elias, known for his role as the top lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, highlighted the potential difficulties Trump may encounter in the trial led by special counsel Jack Smith.

“In a city of 700,000, Donald Trump received only 676 votes in the GOP primary. This could present a challenging jury pool,” Elias shared following Trump’s loss in the GOP primary to Nikki Haley.

Elias was instrumental in hiring Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm responsible for the discredited Steele dossier, which fueled Democrats’ claims of Russian collusion during the 2016 election.

Known for his legal battles on behalf of Democrats in election disputes, often backed by left-wing billionaire George Soros, Elias has also represented the Democratic National Committee and recently parted ways with President Joe Biden’s legal team due to disagreements in strategy.

Trump’s trial in Washington, D.C. has been put on hold, pending a Supreme Court decision on his claim of presidential immunity. Oral arguments are scheduled for April, with a decision expected by the end of June.
