The minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks joined “The Steam Room” with Ernie Johnson and Barkley last week, where Johnson queried Cuban on whether including the NBA legend on his ticket would solidify his presidential ambitions.

Cuban expressed his enthusiasm for the notion, with Barkley pushing the idea further.

“We’d win. We’d definitely win,” the NBA Hall of Famer claimed.

Political analysts from across the spectrum have noted a seemingly open path for Democrats looking ahead to the 2028 presidential race, especially given the party’s recent setbacks in the elections for president, Congress, and the Senate.

Among the potential candidates are notable figures such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.

“Yes, we would win running away,” Cuban stated regarding a ticket with Barkley. “No question about it.”

In the lead-up to election day, Cuban took aim at Trump during the closing days. He remarked on “The View” that Trump “has never been seen around strong, intelligent women.” However, he later acknowledged that those comments were ill-timed, coinciding with President Joe Biden’s derogatory remarks about Trump supporters.

After Trump secured victory in the 2024 election, Cuban posted several congratulatory messages on X.

“Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square,” Cuban tweeted shortly after Pennsylvania reported results favoring the Republican nominee, diminishing the prospects for Harris.

“Congrats to @ElonMusk as well. #Godspeed,” Cuban added.

“If Trump wins, last time when he was victorious, he asked me to assist on health care and PPE [personal protective equipment]. I collaborated with [ex-White House aide] Peter Navarro to establish a mask company, helping it grow through domestic production. I would do the same again. I’m America first,” Cuban stated during an interview on CNBC.

Additionally, Cuban later removed his supportive posts for Harris from X.
