A group of four suspects unleashed over 30 rounds into a gathering outside the Amazura nightclub in Queens just prior to 11:20 p.m. following a private event at the venue, authorities stated.
During a press conference on Thursday morning, NYPD officials reported that six females and four males, aged between 16 and 20, were struck by gunfire.
Authorities are currently searching for a light-colored sedan in connection with the incident.
The 10 injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, all are expected to recover, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries, confirmed New York Police Department Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera.
Rivera noted that the private event had reached “full capacity” with 90 attendees and urged the public to assist with any information they might have.
“The public has been instrumental in recent weeks in helping us capture dangerous individuals,” he stated.
The nightclub, recognized for its spacious interior accommodating up to 4,000 people, frequently hosts DJs and live performances.
Amazura issued a statement regarding the shooting on its Instagram account.
“We are profoundly saddened by the recent and unfortunate isolated incident that transpired. Our thoughts are with all affected by this senseless act. We are collaborating closely with law enforcement to ensure a thorough investigation and to aid in bringing those responsible to justice,” the post read.
“We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our patrons, event promoters, and the local community for their overwhelming support and concern during this challenging time.”
Meanwhile, officials indicated that the investigation is still ongoing.
